IBS / Gastro-Intestinal Symptoms
Diet and lifestyle can have a huge impact on the symptoms experienced. If you would like individualised advice designed to help you manage your symptoms and improve the quality of your diet contact ExpertEating to arrange an appointment.

Why might you need some advice?
- The term IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) covers a range of symptoms which can vary in type and severity between and within individuals. Therefore effective management must be tailored to your symptoms and is not the same for everyone.
- Although the components of a management plan may vary, diet is important for all IBS sufferers. Experteating can help you to identify the dietary triggers or factors which may be affecting your symptoms.
What will we do?
- We will ask you to keep a food/symptom diary which will provide us with valuable information about your particular case.
- Your dietitian will investigate your individual food and symptom pattern to identify possible links and areas for improvement as well as the overall nutritional adequacy of your diet.
- Lifestyle changes which may assist in your symptom management will be discussed.
- We will discuss appropriate dietary strategies and agree goals with you. These may focus on changing the type and quantity of fibre you eat, reducing your intake of possible dietary irritants, improving your overall eating pattern and/or identifying and then avoiding possible dietary triggers (food intolerances).
- Your food preferences, medical and diet history and lifestyle will all be taken into account
- Answer any questions you may have.
